DESIGNED BY THE INTERNATIONALLY RENOWNED ARCHITECTS OF MACHADO SILVETTI, The Center for Asian Art in the Dr. Helga Wall-Appelt Gallery of Asian Art opens May 15th at The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art. The 25,000-square-foot Center includes 6,800 square feet of gallery space for international shows and the exhibition of Asian art from Ringling collections previously unseen or rarely exhibited, such as the 2,500 pieces of Cypriot art purchased by John Ringling at auction from the Metropolitan Museum in 1928 and the Koger Collection of prized Chinese ceramics, as well as multiple facilities for individual study or community presentations. Clad in 2,736 jade-colored terra cotta tiles, each took a team of 12 artisans 28 days to create.
