It’s been a year of odd campaigns, but while there may be something fishy about these candidates, no one’s crying ‘Foul!’ and at the end of the day with ballots counted it’s incumbent Walt’s Fish Market out front in a landslide of Grouper Reuben fanatics and fresh catch aficionados. Lucky Pelican makes a strong showing at first runner-up with voters citing a strong mollusk game and Duval’s remains at second runner-up with the Po Boy Party, while Captain Brian’s and Anna Maria Oyster Bar rally their base to third runners-up finishes.

Brooke Niecestro (on Walt’s Fish Market): This is an amazing operation where good food is served piping hot and promptly as well as the laid-back family-friendly atmosphere. Dave Maraman (on Lucky Pelican): My definition of the best is a restaurant that has terrific service and great quality food at the right price, Lucky Pelican fits the bill. Lorrie Holm (on Duval’s): Two girlfriends and I like to try new upscale local places during happy hour. I loved the food, martinis and the cozy yet modern feel of Duval’s. When a houseguest wanted to treat me to a fancy lunch downtown, I enjoyed a grouper filet there that melted in my mouth.
