Steve Queior announced today that he will step down as president and CEO for The Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce. He has offered to stay through the end of the year to assist with any transition.

“It has been a privilege to work alongside tremendous community leaders, staff and volunteers to achieve considerable advancements for Sarasota,” Queior said. “This is a great Chamber and Sarasota is a community I care about deeply. I look forward to pursuing opportunities here with a narrower focus that would engage my expertise in areas I’m very committed to, such as educational attainment, workforce development and housing, and nonprofit management.”

Queior has led the business organization for more than 13 years. During that time, the Chamber launched its Sarasota Tomorrow initiative, which has been instrumental in such efforts as the successful Baltimore Orioles sprint training negotiations and the development of Nathan Benderson Park.

Chamber chair Lisa Krouse said a transition team has been appointed to explore a search process for Queior’s successor, and stressed the organization will continue serving its mission and membership. “Steve has been instrumental in aligning the mission of the Chamber with the needs of the business community,” Krouse said.
