A member of the SARTQ artist collective and instructor at Ringling College, the sculptures, prints and paintings of multimedia artist Steven Strenk have shown in area galleries including Art Center Sarasota and [blank] slate gallery. His work can currently be seen on display in Sarasota establishments such as Aloft Sarasota. Inspired by vintage motorcycles at the Sarasota Classic Car Museum and the gulls and pelicans wheeling and waddling over the beaches and dunes, Birds and a Bike encompasses both the artist’s preference for the playful and the love of process. Beginning with reference photographs, digital manipulation creates the final design, which is then translated into a template for screen printing, resulting in the eventual image.
