Murray Eisner My father. He was just a really good guy, had great values and was very thoughtful. He had an amazing business mind that he applied all of those different pieces. His business dealings were on the up and up, and he brought creativity in a solution to any business problem he had. He was an absolutely loving father, and more than that, behaved as a dear friend as well.

Flow by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi Everyone has a business book. Mine was a very obscure book called Flow that was written on the principle that people's happiness is not based on enjoyment of sun or beach or golf. People's true sense of happiness is when they are productively doing something, when that puts you into a state of flow where you kind of lose track of time.

Ayn Rand The Fountainhead is one of the most brilliantly written books. It's about the balance of conformity and staying true to yourself. I was originally going to be an architect, so there was an appeal about design, but the ultimate message was that you can be yourself and be true to yourself in the face of a lot of pressures, economically, socially and otherwise. I liked Atlas Shrugged, but really disliked the movies.

Rudy My daughter would call that a "Daddy" movie. Rudy is one of those characters who when you look at them it makes no sense that they should be pursuing the effort, but they do it regardless and they do it with such passion. The guy is too small, but he is willing to dedicate himself to be the punching bag for starters, and in the end the beauty is he did nothing more than inspire the team—he did one play and is carried off on everyone's shoulders.

Turknett Leadership Award This award I received was very personal to me. It was given to me when I was in Atlanta and it was for character. It was based on the nomination of people who worked for me.

Collaboration Having a diversity of ideas is important in order to come to a good conclusion. There needs to be collaboration ensuring that a lot of ideas are at the table. That allows you to think through all of the components. The danger some see is you can't make everybody happy. The point is to hear all the voices and make the best decision based on the voices and your judgment.

Sailing I won’t say I am a sailor yet. I think a number of mishaps need to take place and get resolved to call yourself a sailor, and I haven’t had enough yet. But I like sailing because nature dictates your path and you manage what nature is giving you. I do it more as a hobby than a sport.

Matthew and Sarah Eisner My kids inspire me and keep me young. They help me understand how communication takes place. Earlier on, I saw my son on Facebook. I saw it as the coolest communication method I could imagine, and I had 35,000 employees spread out over country who couldn’t travel to be together in functional areas, so I called Facebook and saw if they could create a module forus so the company could connect better. That was inspired by my son. But he's done the same thing with music and many new developments. My daughter has done the same with graphics and music. They make me feel connected between the generations.
