Greenwell Brings Big Sales to Small Screen
A Sarasota native could soon transition from real estate mogul to television star. Andrew Greenwell, CEO and principal of Venture Sotheby’s International Realty, will serve as the face of Million Dollar Listing San Francisco, a reality show premiering at 10pm tonight on Bravo. But before the world gets to watch the show, Sarasotans can get a sneak peak at a red carpet event being hosted by Community Youth Development at Lakewood Ranch Cinemas at 6:30pm.
Greenwell said he has been in talks with Bravo for two-and-a-half years and started filming the show in October. The show will follow transactions being handled by the Venture Sotheby’s office by Greenwell and fellow brokers Roh Habibi (pictured above right of Greenwell) and Justin Fichelson . The show centers around the work being done in the office, but also touches on the brokers' real lives, so cameras have been following Greenwell constantly. “It is a lot of work, but a lot of fun,” Greenwell said. “It is definitely a life changer.”
As fas as show content, Greenwell promises the drama captured on camera will not be of the semi-staged Real Housewives style seen on other “reality” shows. “Our deals are very real. You can’t fake a real estate deal with today’s technology,” he said. “But it's not that hard to have a dramatic show when you are dealing with someone selling a home, and when dealing with one of the major transactions of their life. Emotions run high. When we entice a seller to get into the show, we don’t know what it’s going to be like. There is already a camera in our face. You deal with the real emotional things in someone’s life.”
Greenwell can’t attend the Sarasota event because he has been doing press on the West Coast in anticipation of the premier. But he feels honored CYD will host the event. Greenwell was a part of the CYD program himself, serving on its board while he was in high school. “It’s important to get some recognition for them, have a fun party and raise some money at the same time,” he said.
