With the advent of chilly wind and overcast skies (finally), a cup of really excellent tomato soup is in order. Take advantage of that month-long window of ideal al fresco basking—where conditions are perfect for bundling up Florida-style—and grab an outdoor table at Libby's Cafe for the most unexpected star of the show: the bowl of vegan tomato bisque. Don't let the "vegan" turn you off; the soup is as creamy as can be without the added heaviness of actual cream, with a flavor deep enough to carry it through to a full meal. Topped with green soybean pesto and a crusty slice of bread, this simple delight should be a go-to, no matter the season. Editor's tip: for a meal of apps, order the soup alongside the Wholesome Farm deviled eggs, a bite-sized compliment to the bisque's richness.
