Doctors Hospital of Sarasota has earned three awards in the areas of heart attack care, heart failure treatment and stroke treatment by following specific quality measures by the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology Foundation. Awards earned include theStroke Gold Plus Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus, recognizing facilities that give lifesaving clot busters in less than 60 minutes and in less than 45 minutes at least 50 percent of the time, theHeart Failure Silver Plus and theMission: Lifeline STEMI Receiving Center Silver award. The hospital earned these awards by meeting specific quality measures for the diagnosis and treatment of patients, proper use of medications and receiving information on managing conditions and follow up appointments before patients are discharged.
