BY SRQ DAILY FRIDAY WEEKEND EDITION FRIDAY NOV 24, 2017

Selah Freedom, a nationally renowned nonprofit working to end sex trafficking and bring freedom to the exploited, has announced its first presentation dedicated to equipping parents and those who work with youth to protect their children from predators. "Sex, Lies & Media" will walk participants through setting safety guards on their phone, educate them on how a predator can lure in innocent children, what red flags to look out for and how to properly initiate conversation with youth around this subject. The evening will also focus on pornography and how it is infiltrated into even the most common apps tweens and teens popularly use, and how a parent can set up ways to monitor devices including text messages, location tracking and phone call logs. "Sex, Lies & Media" will take place on December 5th, 2017 from 6–7:30pm at Bayside Community Church's Bee Ridge Campus, 8200 Bee Ridge Rd. Tickets are $25 for individual tickets, $40 for couples.
