Saddle Up for Sarasota 'Bike to Work Day'

Hunting & Gathering

Payne Park Amphitheater, 2010 Adams Lane, Sarasota, 34237.

Florida Department of Transportation's annual Mobility Week initiative incubates October 25, and goes till November 1. Next Friday, November 1, an event is going down in the Payne Park Ampitheater area to provide a free, fun opportunity for co-workers, neighbors and friends, to bike together on a breezy, fall morning for Sarasota Bike to Work Day. Pedaling to the office can be an eco-friendly and wellness-friendly option for your commute--saving you money on gas, reducing your carbon footprint and improving your health.

Participants should meet at Payne Park at 7:30am to check-in before a Welcome and Safety Briefing. An on-site transportation fair will allow residents and commuters to learn more about their commute options from the City of Sarasota, Sarasota County, Sarasota-Manatee MPO and Sarasota County Area Transit. During this time, coffee, water and donuts will be provided, courtesy of Kimley-Horn. After questions are answered and early morning bellies are fed, the Guided Group Ride begins at 8am, and ends back in Payne Park by 9am. The 2.5-mile, slow-paced loop through downtown will be escorted by the Sarasota Police Department and helmets are strongly recommended.

This event is co-organized by the City of Sarasota, Sarasota County, Sarasota-Manatee Metropolitan Planning Organization and Commute Connector, a program of the Florida Department of Transportation.

Questions can be directed to Commute Connector at 866-585-RIDE (7433) or Info@CommuteConnector.com
