Flower Show at Manatee River Garden Club

Manatee River Garden Club will hold a Standard Flower Show on Friday, March 10, and Saturday, March 11, 2023, at the Garden Club located at 3120 First Avenue West, Bradenton.
The Standard Flower Show is titled, “obSEUSSed” – A Seussical Celebration. The show is a tribute to Dr. Seuss and his whimsical books and art. There will be 24 artistic floral designs competing in 6 different classes. Floral Designers will be competing for National Garden Club top awards. Some of the design types featured are: Underwater Design, Reflective Design and Table Designs. In the Horticulture Division, competitive classes include cut flowers, potted foliage and flowering plants, orchids, bromeliads, cacti and succulents, ferns, and planters. In this division, competitors will try and win the Award of Horticultural Excellence, given to the entry judged best in the entire Horticulture Division. Educational exhibits will cover “Butterflies” and “The Homegrown National Park Project”. Botanical Arts exhibits will include Artistic Crafts and Photography. Photography is a relatively new addition to flower shows and has been very popular with members and the viewing public. Photographs reflect garden club mission and projects. Classes include: “Horton Hears a Who: - a photograph of a bug/bugs. “Wish That I Had Duck Feet” – a photograph of a bird/birds. “Daisy-Head Mayzie” – a photograph of flower/flowers. “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” – a photograph of a landscape. The show will be judged by nationally accredited Flower Show Judges on Friday morning and will be open to the public from 2:00 until 5:00 pm on Friday, March 11, and 10:00 am until 4:00
pm on Saturday, April 17. The show is free to the public. In addition to the Flower Show, vendors of plants and garden related merchandise are being invited to display on Saturday.

Manatee River Garden Club, 3120 First Avenue West, Bradenton, Friday, March 10, 2023, 2pm – 5pm, Saturday, March 11, 2023, 10am – 4pm. Free Admission - Lunch will be available for sale.
