Eight candidates have qualified to run for Sarasota City Commission in the March 14 election. The candidates are seeking two at-large seats on the five-member board.

Candidates include: Tahiti Park neighborhood leader Jennifer Ahearn-Koch; former Sarasota Mayor Fredd "Glossie" Atkins; former prosecutor Hagen Brody; incumbent Commissioner Susan Chapman; Planning Board member Patrick Gannon; Gulf Business Systems owner Martin Hyde; pedestrian safety advocate Mikael Sandstrom and former stockbroker Matt Sperling.

Coters make support two candidates when they vote in the March 14 election. If no candidate wins support from a majority of voters, the top three vote-getters will advance to a May 9 runoff.
