Major Day for Luxury Sales

The sale of three multi-million-dollar homes on a single day last week showed the strength of luxury real estate the Gulf Coast, according to leaders at Coldwell Banker. “It is very evident that our luxury market is on an upswing,” said Ellen O’Day, managing broker for Coldwell Banker’s Longboat Key office. “Sarasota is growing in every aspect and visitors are becoming homeowners as they discover all the amazing things our area has offer.”

The following sales all were announced on Friday during an exemplary day for real estate in the Sarasota area.

A condominium unit on Longboat Key went under contract for $4.8 million after being on the market for just six days. The 5,400-square-foot property on L’Ambiance Drive had been listed by Coldwell Banker agent Roger Pettingell, a luxury waterfront specialist.

A Golden Gate Point unit in ONE88, listed by Coldwell Banker agents Dyrk Dahl and Gwen Kruse, also sold Friday for $2.8 million. The Downtown Sarasota condo had been the only never-lived-in unit left in the building.

And a Bird Key home fronting a canal also moved on Friday. The 4,267-square-foot home on Meadow Lark Drive, listed by Coldwell Banker agent Lynne Koy, sold for $2.175 million.

O’Day says the flurry in sales activity shows reason for optimism in high-end sales in the region. “As we approach 2018, if we have the inventory, we will have the buyers,” she says.
