The School Board of Manatee County unanimously approved an agreement between the School District and the Manatee Education Association for instructional staff base salary increases and paraprofessional staff raises for the 2020-2021 school year. With funds from state House Bill 761 (Funds for the Operation of schools) which allocated resources for teacher salaries, and the addition of the local referendum millage supplement of $5,201 for teachers, the approved increases will raise the pay for a beginning starting teacher in Manatee County to $51,630 – one of the highest pay amounts for beginning starting teachers in the state of Florida.
