Legislature Approves $950,000 for Manatee District STEM Program

When state lawmakers approved a record $101.5 billion state budget today, it included $950,000 for the School District of Manatee County to expand a special STEM career pathways program named Woz-Ed. Named for Apple co-founder and Silicon Valley icon Steve Wozniak, Woz-Ed prepares students as early as elementary school for careers in science, technology, engineering and math.
