In lieu of the official start of summer this week, we're rolling out a new SRQ Daily column to celebrate all things outdoor and fitness-related around town. Check in every Tuesday for the Outdoor Fitness Series to stay in the know of sweat-inducing, blood-pumping and sun-tanning activities to get your hot yoga on this summer!

Kicking it off, we head to The Ringling Museum to shavasana at sunset with Sarasota’s Lululemon ambassador and beloved instructor at The Yoga Shack, Ashley Stewart. Yoga at the Ca' d'Zan continues to bring out excited crowds for this special monthly outdoor series. Each session lasts one hour, and goes through a restorative, gentle vinyasa for all skill levels. Located outside on the famous Terrace and north side of the mansion facing Sarasota Bay, event loudspeakers are set up by Ringling at the water’s edge so the crowd can audibly follow Stewart's guided yin flow and enjoy the magnified music that carries you from one shape to the next. As the clouds turn sorbet colors, friendly manatees and inquisitive dolphins often show up during the magical hour spent mat to marble. Bring your water bottle and own mat/towel and have your next headstand captured in photo with one of the most picturesque and historical backdrops in Sarasota.

Tickets are limited to 50 attendees and must be purchased online in advance of the event ($13.5 for members and $15 for the public). The next events are scheduled for Friday, June 25 and Thursday, July 15 at 7 pm. Tickets always sell out, so jump on them when the getting’s good! For more information and to get your tickets, click here.
