CR Fitness CEO, Tony Scrimale has a rags-to-riches kind of story.

He moved to Sarasota from upstate New York at the age of 19. With no real experience in the fitness industry, he began by working as a cleaning attendant in his local gym. An athlete with a passion for health and fitness, Tony knew he wanted to make a difference in the lives of others. He quickly worked his way up the fitness ladder and officially became CEO of CR Fitness  October of 2021.

Tony comes from an overweight family and as he was moving to Florida, his 5’8” father who he describes as “deconditioned” was entering his 50s. Knowing that his father’s life would be changed if he only had the courage to walk into a gym and meet with a person who cared, Tony was inspired. “Each and every day, my gym tours became more about the person I was touring. I just wished someone would walk into my dad’s life who was doing exactly what I was doing. That was my drive to teach my people to be more focused on who was in front of them and consider how fitness can impact their lives.”

As CEO, Tony knows everyone in the company depends on him. He positions himself to be a leader. He is currently developing teams with a "no judgment mentality" to inspire members to embrace a healthy lifestyle. He focuses on how employees can build relationships in their communities and develop transformation stories to inspire everyone, from the general managers to the cleaning staff. With his father in mind, Tony works daily to help people stay healthy enough to see and play with their grandchildren.

There are 4 Crunch Fitness clubs in Sarasota. The Crunch Bee Ridge and Crunch University were the first two clubs to open in the company and will be celebrating their 10th anniversary this summer.
