Hurricane Milton Update and Important Information from Operation Warrior Resolution

The Giving Coast

Hurricane Milton affected so many lives in Florida. I hope that everyone stayed safe and knows that together we can get through anything. If you're like most of us at Operation Warrior Resolution, you've experienced a wide range of emotions. We've gone from losing our nonprofit facility in Debby, to having employees lose their homes in Helene, and now with the State of Florida struggling as a whole while we recover from Milton. I worked as a volunteer over the weekend to pack and hand out food at a distribution site in Sarasota. It was incredibly humbling. This is where you see firsthand, the enormity of the aftermath, and just how many people are suffering. Yet, most all of them were in good spirits with lots of gratitude for a hot meal. Over the weekend, our team has been in the community helping with cleanup, provide supplies, putting tarps on roofs, and volunteering to provide food at distribution sites. Also over the weekend, our therapists were doing what they do best, providing mental health, brain-based healing, trauma treatment to veterans who needed it during these times. Operation Warrior Resolution is here to provide mental health support at anytime, please click the link below to get started with brain-based healing. We also recognize that those we serve have other immediate crisis needs such as storm clean up, food, supplies, temporary housing, gas, etc. We are trying to assess the greatest needs for those in our OWR community, outside of mental health services, so please respond back to this email to let us know where else you need support. Other organizations for hurricane relief assistance: 2-1-1 Disaster & Recovery Services, United Way Suncoast: Disaster Recovery Services, Season of Sharing, Hope Florida. Together we are rebuilding and growing stronger as a community. We are here to support veterans and their families in their time of need--we are here for you every step of the way.
