So it’s less choppy, it’s more blended, more wearable. It has more lived-in movement without looking too messy.” This updated shag is ideal for warm weather because it removes weight without sacrificing style. The layers create airflow and texture, helping hair feel lighter and less dense in humidity. Bebber emphasizes that the trend is less about achieving a specific silhouette and more about tailoring the cut to each client’s natural density and texture, keeping the cut highly customizable. The Stylists by HB Owner Timi Veres notes that this style can easily be modified for all occasions, adding that soft waves can bring in a nice contrast. “This style gives a very clean, snatched and luxurious vibe,” she says. To get this look, Veres says to begin by blow-drying your hair to eliminate frizz, then use a light gel to secure and clean up the slicked-back pieces and finish by curling the ends for a soft wave. She notes that the half-up, half-down style is more dressy than some of the season’s other trends, making it the perfect look for a special summer occasion. 

Textured Bob 

If you’re looking to make a big chop this summer, Veres recommends a textured, wavy bob, describing it as “softly layered to create movement and volume. It’s full, bouncy and effortless.” Veres says this style is a favorite of hers because of how flexible it is. The style embraces natural waves and a lightweight feel, allowing you to wear it everywhere, from the beach to a formal event. Veres adds layers to the cut to avoid the bob feeling too heavy or flat, helping it look great even in the warm and humid Florida weather. Along with the broader trend towards more natural styles, this look moves away from the overly structured bob and could be the perfect option for those looking for a big chop.
