W. Smith Auction of New Hampshire and Crissy Galleries of Sarasota joined forces to form SRQ Auctions. The company’s first event, as the new business venture, was held in Sarasota's Municipal Auditorium on March 30. The two-day spectacular event presented 450 cataloged items for the serious collector, the professional dealer and the connoisseur, organizers said. Attendees included local, regional and European experts, while internet and phone bidding allowed for exciting global participation. After years of auctions at the New College waterfront mansion, Smith and Crissy moved closer to downtown to the larger venue and into the public spotlight.
