Riverview Basketball Coach Takes Post at Florida Gulf Coast University

William “BJ” Ivey, the head men’s basketball coach at Riverview High School has resigned his position and accepted a job with the Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) where he will serve as director of basketball operations for the men’s basketball team. Ivey, a former Sarasota County Schools Teacher of the Year, has been with Riverview High School for 14 years and has been recognized by former Florida Governor, Rick Scott, with a Shine Award and was named the Florida Association of Basketball Coaches Class 8A Coach of the Year in 2016.

Riverview High School will soon announce a new head basketball coach for the 2019-20 school year.
