Sarasota County Confirms Mylett as Director of Public Utilities Department

Government

The Sarasota County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) confirmed Mike Mylett as the new director of Sarasota County's Public Utilities Department. Mylett has been with Sarasota County Government since 2000, serving in a variety of roles within public utilities, including division manager of Water and Wastewater starting in 2018, until his appointment to interim director in April. By ordinance, the BCC must confirm the public utilities director. Commissioner Charles Hines, who also serves as the BCC chairman, said Mylett has worked hard to earn the role since his appointment as interim director and has continued to recognize water quality as a top board priority. Mylett earned a bachelor's degree in public health and administration from Indiana University and his master's degree in business administration from Weber University.
