In Conversation With 2020 Top Doctor Ronald Torrance, II, D.O. On Innovation In Sports Medicine

BrandStory

For the January 2021 edition of SRQ Magazine, we interviewed 2020 Top Doctors on current topics. Below is an excerpt from this published in the In Conversation marketing feature in which Dr. Ronald Torrance, II of Regenexx Tampa Bay shares his insights on innovations in sports medicine.

What are a few of the most exciting treatments in your field?

The innovations that we're really pioneering are looking at percutaneous ways to repair partial tears of the rotator cuff, and partial tears of the ACL where you don't have to go through arthroscopic surgery. We have two randomized control trials on each, showing that we can percutaneously help regenerate these injuries. So you don't have to necessarily have to go to surgery to get these areas to heal. Our CEO has a mission for Regenexx that our innovations reduce the number of elective orthopedic surgeries by 70% by 2030. I feel with the new modalities coming for the people, it's a certainly attainable mission.
