Mattison’s City Grille to Host Legendary Dixie Jazz Band for One Day Only

Skip’s Dixie Mix is bringing New Orleans, Mardi Gras, Dixie style music to Mattison’s. They will play one day only on Sunday, February 27 th at Mattison’s City Grille, 1 North Lemon Avenue, Downtown Sarasota. There are two seating times. The first seating is at 11:00am-11:30 with the band playing from 11:30 – 12:30. The second seating is 1:00-1:30 pm with the band playing 1:30 – 2:30. This is a free event to attend but reservations are recommended. Skip’s Dixie Mix is a band of seven seasoned musicians who have been immersed in the music scene for more than six decades and have played the circuit with some big names in the music business. Their collective portfolio includes time on stage and touring with Patti LaBelle, Bo Diddley, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Engelbert Humperdinck, Ben Vereen, and Tom Jones. Members have also played with well-known orchestras and symphonies such as our own local Venice Symphony and at Asolo Theater performances. Others have played with the United States Navy School of Music, US Army Band and at Jazz Festivals throughout North America and Europe. Mattison’s will feature special New Orleans style menu items such as made-from-scratch Seafood Gumbo, made-to-order Beignets, Po Boys, Shrimp and Grits, Baby Back Ribs, and more. A special New Orleans Hurricane cocktail will also be featured. Reservations are highly recommended. Call 941-330-0440 to reserve your seat for this special event.
