SRQ Announces Temporary Construction Public Safety Access Measures For Shade Parking Lot

On Thursday, March 16th at 7 am, the Airport Authority will be closing the sidewalk access between the terminal building and the Shade Parking/Overflow Lots due to construction. Convenient shuttle bus service will be provided from the terminal building and the parking lots during this closure. Alternative sidewalk access will be completed within a week to allow some pedestrian movements. Rick Piccolo, President, CEO stated, “The major terminal construction activities are beginning in earnest and will have various impacts on airport operations over the course of the next 18-24 months. Our efforts will be to maintain passenger safety and convenience as much as possible while facilitating expeditious completion of the much-needed improvements. We ask passengers to please allow a little extra time if you plan to park your vehicle at SRQ. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.”
