City Administrative Offices Close for Memorial Day on May 29

City of Sarasota administrative offices will be closed Monday, May 29, in observance of Memorial Day. Residential garbage, recycling and yard waste collection and commercial garbage collection schedules will be unaffected by the holiday. Hours of operation at recreation and cultural arts facilities are as follows: Arlington Park and Aquatic Complex, 2650 Waldemere St., will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m; Lido Pool, 400 Benjamin Franklin Drive, will be closed; Payne Park Tennis Center, 2050 Adams Lane, will be open 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m; Robert L. Taylor Community Complex, 1845 34th St., will be open 6-10 a.m; Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, 777 N. Tamiami Trail - The Box Office will be closed; The city, in conjunction with the Sarasota Patriotic Observance Committee, will host the annual Memorial Day parade at 10 a.m. Monday, May 29, in downtown Sarasota, to be followed by a ceremony at approximately 11 a.m. at Chaplain J.D. Hamel Park. Due to the parade, the Bay Runner will operate a modified route from South Lido at Ted Sperling Park to the Ringling Boulevard-Palm Avenue intersection from 8 a.m. until the conclusion of the parade and ceremony at about noon Monday.
