Supporting Survivors: SPARCC Stands Strong During Domestic Violence Awareness Month

BrandStory

October is more than pumpkin spice lattes and falling leaves. It's also Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM), a time to shine a light on the critical work of organizations like Safe Place and Rape Crisis Center (SPARCC). SPARCC is a pillar of strength in our community, with a mission to provide a safe haven and promote empowerment, awareness, and social change to end domestic and sexual violence. For over four decades, they have been dedicated to helping survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault find their voice and rebuild their lives. Their commitment knows no bounds. At SPARCC, survivors find a safe haven. They offer crisis intervention, counseling, legal advocacy, and even shelter for those in immediate danger. Their empowering approach and wrap-around services ensure that survivors receive the support they need to heal and rebuild their lives.

This Domestic Violence Awareness Month, let's stand together with SPARCC. By raising awareness and supporting their crucial work, we can help survivors find safety, healing, and hope.

How You Can Get Involved:

  • Make A Gift: Your donation goes a long way in supporting SPARCC's mission. Consider making a gift to help survivors on their journey to healing.
  • Social Media Campaign: Share your support on social media by using the hashtags #DVAM and #SupportSPARCC. Join the conversation by sharing why you support DVAM, why you wear purple, or why you support survivors. Tag @SPARCC_Sarasota in your posts, and they will share your message to spread awareness even further.
  • Wear Purple Day: Mark your calendar for Thursday, October 19th, and wear purple to show solidarity with survivors and raise awareness about domestic violence.

This October, let’s join SPARCC and make a difference in our community. Together, we can turn October into a month of empowerment and change.
