Connect. Empower. Thrive. Hope: Resilient Retreat Cooks Up a Menu for Community Mental Health

The Giving Coast

Resilient Retreat is an innovative nonprofit with a mission to help those impacted by trauma and abuse. The organization provides free, evidence-based programs to survivors of abuse, first responders and helping professionals, to heal the impacts of trauma on the mind, body and spirit. To help them secure funding for their programs, they are hosting an al fresco farm-to table dining experience. “We are thrilled to partner with four outstanding chefs in our community to bring you our second annual Farm to Table event,” said Lisa Intagliata, Executive Director of Resilient Retreat. “This event is Resilient Retreat’s largest fundraiser that provides critical resources to help us achieve our mission to empower survivors of trauma, first responders and helping professionals to be resilient and thrive by providing accessible, confidential, evidence-based programs and education.” Attendees will enjoy a Sunday evening with a multi-course meal prepared by local chefs outdoors among the trees, birds and beauty of the Resilient Retreat campus. The culinary feast will showcase ingredients fresh from local gardens, farms, and ranches. Featured chefs include Chef Christopher Covelli of Sage SRQ, Chefs Mark Traugutt and Alfonso Duron of Fork & Hen, Chef Jamil Pineda of Michael’s On East, and Jim Angus of Atria Café. Each chef will create a dish based on a word from Resilient Retreat’s tagline: Connect. Thrive. Empower. Hope. “We HOPE you can join us under the stars at our beautiful retreat property and CONNECT with friends old and new,” said Debbie LaMarca, Chair of this year’s event. “Four fabulous local chefs will tantalize your palate with their culinary delights. Our goals for the evening: eat, drink, and raise funds to EMPOWER our participants to THRIVE in our community. Tickets are selling fast, so be sure to secure yours soon!” The Farm to Table event will take place on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at 4:00 pm at Resilient Retreat, located at 3500 Journey Lane in Sarasota. Ticket prices are $350 per person. Proceeds benefit Resilient Retreat’s mission to empower survivors of trauma, first responders and helping professionals to be resilient and thrive by providing accessible, confidential, evidence-based programs. Tickets and sponsorships can be purchased at https://resilientretreat.org/events.
