The Sarasota Players Studio Presents the Prequel to Peter Pan this November

Arts & Culture

The Sarasota Players Studio presents the first production of the studio season, Peter and the Starcatcher, this Nov. 3 through 5 at The Crossings at Siesta Key (3501 S. Tamiami Trail, Suite 1130, Sarasota, FL 34239.) The student performers range in age from middle to high school and are truly the next generation of theatre artists. Directed by new Players Studio Director Thayer Greenberg, this play with music is charming with a lot of heart. In the play, a young orphan and his mates are shipped off from Victorian England to a distant island ruled by the evil King Zarboff. They know nothing of the mysterious trunk in the captain’s cabin, which contains a precious, otherworldly cargo. At sea, the boys are discovered by a precocious young girl named Molly, a Starcatcher-in-training who realizes that the trunk’s precious cargo is starstuff, a celestial substance so powerful that it must never fall into the wrong hands. When the ship is taken over by pirates – led by the fearsome Black Stache, a villain determined to claim the trunk and its treasure for his own – the journey quickly becomes a thrilling adventure.

Nov. 3-4, 2023 at 7pm, Nov. 5 at 2pm, 3501 S. Tamiami Trail, Suite 1130, Sarasota. Please park and enter the mall by Connors Steak and Seafood.
