Cantors of the Bay Area Cantorial Association (BACA) in association with Rabbi Stephen Sniderman of Temple Beth Israel of Longboat Key will present “A MUSICAL MITZVAH FOR ISRAEL” concert benefiting the Israel Emergency Fund of the Jewish Federations of North America, on Sunday, March 3, 2024 at 3 PM at Temple Emanu-El, 151 McIntosh Rd., Sarasota, FL 34232. Tickets will be available at the door for a suggested donation of $36 each (cash or check only). BACA has raised more than $71,000 toward cantorial scholarships for students BACA has also provided significant donations to new publications of liturgical Jewish music including a gift of $5,000 to Transcontinental Music Publications (a division of the American Conference of Cantors) as a sponsor for the Mikraei Kodesh compilation of sacred music for Jewish lifecycle events.
