Suncoast Black Arts Collaborative Receives Five Community Grants to Expand Regional Art Exhibitions

Since launching in January, Suncoast Black Arts Collaborative’s “Beyond Regional Boundaries” initiative has energized the Sarasota-Manatee arts and cultural landscape—most visibly through its “Art Innovation Zone” program, which has presented four dynamic exhibitions to date. Designed to advance cultural equity, the initiative brings the work of Black artists to high-visibility public venues, including performing arts centers, libraries, and museums. Participating partners have included the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, Sarasota Opera, Manatee Performing Arts Center, and WSLR Fogartyville. The exhibits continue in October at Sarasota Orchestra, Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe and Venice Theatre.
