Personal wardrobe stylist and color analysis expert Dina Scherer has always known that fashion would be part of her story. With training in advertising and fashion merchandising, and early experience in fashion forecasting, she developed a sharp eye for trends—then chose to build a career focused on finding the perfect style for her clients and started her own business, Modnitsa Styling.
After going back to school for image consulting—a styling method that focuses on analyzing color, style and body shape to help teach clients the best style for them—at the Fashion Institute of Technology, Scherer developed an approach to styling that blends expertise with education and self-discovery. “It's not just about your clothes and what you wear. It's about how it makes you feel, what kind of message it projects, how that helps you in life and what that does for your confidence,” she says.
Through color analysis sessions, Scherer helps clients identify their most flattering palette, providing a clear framework for shopping and building outfits with intention. Her signature “Style RX” sessions dive deeper, exploring fit, proportions and personality. “We work together so that clients get a lot of information about what looks best,” says Scherer. “And then we do a closet review and personal shopping, where I help them build new outfits that are all chosen with intention through the lens of knowing what looks best on them.”
Rather than projecting her own style onto clients, Scherer says she approaches each styling with an objective eye aimed at guiding clients towards their authentic style. “My work is a little bit of a cheerleader, a little bit of a mentor, a little bit like a style coach,” she says. “It's really cathartic for a lot of people to go through this, because they get an opportunity to unlearn their insecurities.”
