After 20 years of professional experience as a high-end nail technician at Bliss 49 in the W Hotel in New York City, Regina Vardanian brings her emphasis on excellence and elevation to clients in Sarasota.

Vardanian opened her nail salon, NailHaus SRQ, last year in a location just off Fruitville Road. Vardanian specializes in Russian-style manicures—a style that is quickly becoming popular for its focus on nail health and longevity. She explains that the work is very precise. “It is very meticulous. That’s why it takes more time,” Vardanian says, “I usually give two hours to my clients, so there’s no rush. People love it.”

The technique is heavily focused on cuticle preparation. Vardanian explains that when she used to work at Bliss 49, she was drawn to Russian-style manicures because it is all about natural nails. She highlights that the difference between typical and Russian-style manicures is the way the nail beds are prepared. “In traditional places, they either soak your hands in the water or they use cuticle remover,” she said. “The main difference here is the way you prep the nail bed and the way you clean the cuticle.”

Vardanian explains that Russian-style technicians typically do not use water and use an electric file to remove dead skin. She highlights that Russian-style manicures are about simplicity. “It’s not about super long nails with a lot of design and decor. It's about the cuticle work and the shaping,” she says, “They are flawless and classy.”

However, creating a serene and entirely personalized experience is what Vardanian values the most at her salon. “It's a very private studio. It is always one-on-one,” she explains. “Customer service is number one."  Vardanian emphasizes that she wants her clients to leave feeling relaxed and refreshed.
