[New Business]  Seaside and Co. Brings a Shop and Sip Experience to Wellen Park
Mallory Evans, mallory.evans@srqme.com

While already owning Beach Daisy Coast Clothing in Sanibel and Seaside Chic Boutique in Venice, a husband and wife duo decided to expand their entrepreneurial ventures and open a third store in May.

Brian and Keelie Bloom launched Seaside and Co. in Wellen Park as a destination for fashion, home decor and coastal gifts that embody Florida living. Alongside the store is a wine bar that carries boutique wines, seltzers and beers.

“I really liked the aspect of creating a ‘sip and shop’ place for customers that carries favorite name brands, as well as a wine bar,” Keelie Bloom says.

Guests can enjoy their drinks at the shop’s indoor and outdoor seating. Bloom says the building’s developer is planning to add a balcony to the store’s existing patio. The boutique also features live music.

“We wanted something different, and we’ve worked over a year creating this and it’s come out exactly the way we wanted,” she says.

Bloom explains that the store mainly caters to a demographic for women ranging from their 20s to 90s. Nevertheless, the boutique has an ample collection of menswear, too.

Top clothing lines featured in the store are Z SUPPLY, Milio Milano, Sanctuary and Wooden Ships. Men’s lines include Peter Millar, Tommy Bahama, Marine Layer and Johnnie-O. Seaside & Co. also sells a variety of jewelry, accessories, handbags and shoes.

The couple partners with local businesses to raise money for charity; they recently raised over $2,000 for the Suncoast Humane Society.

“We want to continue to become more involved in the community in Venice and North Port,” Bloom says.
