The Ronto Group is creating Florida’s first Rosewood Residences, opening soon at Lido Key in Sarasota.

Each of the 65 private luxury residences averages 4,200 square feet and offers unobstructed views of the Gulf of Mexico. Closings on the project began the second week of September, and The Ronto Group president, Anthony Solomon, says this build marks the first announced Rosewood residential-only project.

“We like to characterize this project as all the benefits and services of having hotel living but without the transient people,” Solomon says.

Rosewood is partnering with Lillian Wu Studios for interior design, and units are priced from $6.8 million to $14.9 million. A variety of indoor and outdoor amenities include a social lounge, zero-edge swimming pools, private restaurant and private chef services, fitness center with massage treatment rooms, 12-seat theater room, game room and children’s play area. 

“This gives everyone that resort, hotel lifestyle without vacationers in the midst,” Solomon says. “This is bringing an entirely new paradigm of living to the Sarasota market.”

New leadership additions include general manager Kelby Linneken and head chef Alex Rodriguez. Linneken brings over two decades of luxury hospitality and residential operations experience, and Rodriguez has overseen four-star dining rooms in New York City and served as corporate chef at Marriott Vacations Worldwide.

“We’re thrilled that Rosewood found these candidates, and it’s going to bring a new level of luxury to the market here,” Solomon says.

Other planned Rosewood locations in Florida include Naples, Hillsboro Beach and Miami. Solomon says people will be “absolutely floored” by what they see with the level of detail that goes into every floor and residence.

“Rosewood understands the affluence associated with their brand and customers,” Solomon says. “It’s a huge vote of confidence in the Sarasota market.”

HCA Florida Healthcare helped Southwest Florida residents gain lifesaving skills this August through free Stop the Bleed® and Hands-Only CPR training sessions held in Bradenton, Venice and Fort Myers.This education initiative was brought to the community by HCA Florida Blake Hospital, HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital, HCA Florida Englewood Hospital, HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital and HCA Florida Lehigh Hospital and their network of HCA Florida ER facilities. A groundbreaking event was held in June, at Temple Beth Sholom Cemetery, celebrating the 4 1/2-acre expansion of its property to accommodate additional burial plots. Attending was city planning, landscape architecture, and engineering professionals, along with representatives of the Jewish Federation of Sarasota/Manatee, TBS Cemetery committee members, and guests. Temple Beth Sholom Cemetery was established in 1932 and is a beautiful property on Circus Blvd bordering Bobby Jones Golf Course. Its 8-plus acres are the only exclusively Jewish-owned “community” cemetery in the area. The right to be buried at the TBS Cemetery extends to any Jew, whether a TBS member, a member of another congregation, anyone unaffiliated, or any non-Jewish significant other. The current 2000 plots will be approximately doubled in the expansion and should be sufficient to serve our community for the next 45 years. Just months after opening the new Milman-Kover Cancer Pavilion on its flagship Sarasota campus, Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is moving forward with plans for a new outpatient cancer center in Venice, expanding access to advanced cancer care for patients throughout south Sarasota County and surrounding communities. The Venice center represents the next phase in the continued expansion of Sarasota Memorial’s Brian D. Jellison Cancer Institute, which SMH launched in 2020 to give cancer patients, caregivers and medical providers greater access to the latest treatments, technologies, clinical trials and supportive services close to home. The cancer center will be located in a new outpatient medical facility that will be constructed on Curry Lane, adjacent to the Sarasota Memorial Hospital-Venice campus. The 5-acre site was acquired by Flagship in January 2025, and Sarasota Memorial is leasing and completing the build-out of the facility to expand a range of outpatient services in Venice, including cancer care and endoscopy services.

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System President & Chief Executive Officer David Verinder has been named chair of the Safety Net Hospital Alliance of Florida, marking the second time he has been selected to lead the statewide organization representing Florida’s flagship safety net health systems. Last week, the Sarasota County Public Hospital Board approved the purchase of 120 acres of undeveloped land along the SR64/I-75 corridor, one of Southwest Florida's fastest-growing communities. The critical growth project will allow Sarasota Memorial Health Care System (SMH) to better serve the four-county Suncoast region, which is expected to grow from approximately 1.2 million residents today to nearly 1.8 million over the next 25 years.  The nearly $60 million land deal is contingent upon SMH working with Manatee County officials and community leaders to rezone and develop a future campus on the site. In July, the Hospital Board also approved acquiring a 10-acre adjacent parcel.

Mason.
