SILL Lecture Series

From January to March, 2012, The Sarasota Institute of Lifetime Learning (SILL) will present a season of excellence and dedication to lifetime learning for those interested in contemporary global policy issues and music. From its modest beginnings as an educational amenity for Plymouth Harbor residents, SILL has grown to attract around 25,000 attendees a year to its 80-lecture program. Join an enlightening lecture or a stimulating series at SILL, one of Sarasota’s cultural treasures.
Lectures are offered every January to March at the Players Theatre, the Venice Community Center and the Venice Theatre. The speakers are leading experts in their field, evidenced by their influence and ties to government leaders.
Sarasota: Monday Music sessions are held at:Sarasota Orchestra's Holley Hall, 709 N. Tamiami Trail
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday Global Issues sessions are held at:?Players Theatre, 838 N. Tamiami Trail
All lectures start at 10:30 am.
Series ticket holders are encouraged to be seated 15 minutes prior to the start of the lecture. Doors open 40 minutes prior to the start of the lecture.
Venice: Monday Music sessions are held at:?Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Venice, 1971 Pinebrook Rd.?Lectures start at 3:00 pm - new time
Tuesday and Friday Global Issues sessions are held in the Venice Community Center, 326 S Nokomis Ave (next to the Venice Public Library), except the March 2 lecture, which will be held at the Venice Theatre, 140 West Tampa Ave.
Global Issues Lectures start at 2:30 pm on Tuesdays and 10:00 am on Fridays.

SINGLE DAY ADMISSIONS. Daily tickets to all lectures are $7 at the door. Payment may be made by cash or check only. Because Sarasota lectures frequently draw a full house, daily tickets will not be sold until 15 minutes prior to the start of the lecture and will be limited to the seats available.
The Sarasota Institute of Lifetime Learning (SILL) is a non-profit group that holds over 75 lectures to provide information on and discussion of the arts and contemporary global issues. SILL is guided by an all-volunteer board committed to modest pricing and enhanced outreach.
