The Marietta Museum of Art and Whimsy announced it will host a groundbreaking ceremony on Feb. 2 at 11:30am. The museum campus will soon include a museum store and cafe built by Gerdes Construction on the south side of the North Tamiami Trail property along Sylvan Drive. The campus of the Whimsy Museum now runs from Whitaker's Bayou at the South to 23rd Street at the North and includes a Volunteer Workspace/Studio, the Museum itself, and a spacious Sculpture Garden and Parking Lot. Curator Marietta Lee said the new structures are the next logical expansion for the museum.
