Governor Rick Scott announced the appointment of John “Bob” Long Jr. to the State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota District Board of Trustees. Long, 75, of Sarasota, is the CEO of Marine Concepts. He previously served as a board member of the National Marine Manufacturers Association and was named Florida Manufacturer of the Year in 2010. Long received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from St. Louis University. He succeeds Ann Moore and is appointed for a term ending May 31, 2018. The appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
