The HuB Agency and The Early Learning Coalition have collaborated to initiate the new campaign MyFirstBackPack.org. The campaign is designed to raise funds and awareness to support pre-kindergarteners in Sarasota County that currently live in poverty. Of the 15,000 children residing in Sarasota County, 21 percent of children under the age of five do not have access to high-quality early learning experiences and supplies, officials with the campaign said. The 90-day campaign has goal of raising $60,000 by mid-June. Contributors have the option to give a range of denominations, and with each $20 donation the MyFirstBackpack.org program supplies a child with a backpack filled with the necessary tools for early intellectual development.
