The community is invited to a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the opening of the Walton Ranch site at 10am on Monday. The ribbon-cutting is a celebration to recognize the opening of this preserve site, which offers a host of recreation and educational opportunities in a beautiful, natural setting. The 3,760-acre preserve was purchased by Sarasota County in 2010 using funding through the Environmentally Sensitive Lands Protection Program, in partnership with the Southwest Florida Water Management District.
