Donte’s Den is pleased to announce that it has received a $2,500.00 grant from the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, Inc. from the Hubert and Ruth DeLynn Fund. The grant will sponsor the first dog to enter into the Semper Paw Military Program. Dozer, a two year old American Bulldog mix, will join the ranks at Donte’s Den in July while his Army mom deploys to Africa for up to one year. Semper Paw gives peace of mind and supports responsible, lifelong pet ownership for qualified members of the US Armed Services and their companion canines by providing pet counseling services, discounted veterinary care and temporary care for companion dogs during deployment, service commitments and emergency hardships. The program aims to alleviate the necessity of soldiers having to surrender their beloved canine buddies to animal shelters when they deploy or experience emergency hardships, and is close to Marsha Panuce’s heart, who is the Founder and President of Donte’s Den. In speaking about the impact of the funds received from Community Foundation of Sarasota County, Inc. from the Hubert and Ruth DeLynn Fund, she states, “We’re delighted that the community has joined forces and cares enough to recognize the need for this program and the importance it has to the men and women fighting for our country.”
