Suncoast Cancer Institute, a Sarasota-based hematology and medical oncology practice under the direction of Dr. Penny Heinrich, announced its grand opening. Heinrich founded Suncoast Cancer Institute in Sarasota to offer personalized cancer services and provide comprehensive care for all types of cancer, as well as malignant and benign blood disorders. Heinrich graduated from Sarasota High School and received her undergraduate degree from the University of South Florida in Tampa. She received her medical degree from the American University of The Caribbean School of Medicine in St. Maarten, Netherland Antilles and completed her residency in internal medicine at Louisiana State University in New Orleans before completing her fellowship in hematology and oncology at Louisiana State University in Shreveport, Louisiana.  She has practiced in Thomasville, Georgia and in New Port Richey.
