Ugg’s Bakery is the gluten-free, dairy-free, paleo-friendly bakery operating out of Perq Coffee Bar that serves up sinfully tasty treats one can enjoy without the usual dessert-related guilt. I love it when chefs, cooks and bakers take the time to make their heathy food as delicious as the more decadent alternatives. I may not be gluten intolerant or lactose intolerant, and I may not eat food exclusively enjoyed by cavemen and dinosaurs, but I do know that I feel far better (and happier) half an hour after consuming one of Jenn Holloway-Ellsworth’s cupcakes than I would normally feel after eating an entire cupcake. This Saturday, from 3-6pm, Ugg’s Bakery is celebrating its 2nd Birthday with a soiree hosted by Canned Ham Vintage in their new location on 7th Street. The birthday bash features the aforementioned cupcakes, as well as sammies and breakfast breads. Out and About Coffee will be providing caffeinated accompaniments and there’s going to be a champagne and cupcake toast at 5pm. Champagne. And Cupcakes. I look forward to seeing you there.
