Developer and entrepreneur Henry Rodriguez purchased the Elephant Ears Suites on Stickney Point Road from Jonathon and Michael Jones for $1.9 million.The hotel complex contains 21 updated units distributed between three buildings. The units range from standard to deluxe units and all have kitchenettes. The hotel is also walking distance from shopping and Siesta Key beach. Rodriguez plans to remodel the complex into a four-star hotel, similar to other investments including the Nokomis Inn & Suites in Nokomis. Eric Massey and Ben Graham of Michael Saunders & Company handled the transaction.
