Sarasota Memorial Health Care System was one of 2.2 percent of hospitals evaluated by the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to earn the government’s first ever five-star rating for overall quality and safety. One of two hospitals in Florida, SMH was 102 of 4,599 eligible facilities to receive CMS’ highest score.
