Decrease In Unemployment Rate

Factoid

The Bureau of Labor Statistics shares the percentage of the civilian non-institutional population that is unemployed in Sarasota County. Based on the chart, there has been a tremendous increase from 7.4 percent to 11.3 percent in a year span from 2008–2009. The increase during that period of time aligns with the financial crisis timeline. Since then, there has been a steady decrease in percentage of unemployment. From 11.6 percent in 2010 to 5 percent in 2015 shows a major improvement in the decline of unemployment in Sarasota. This data was last updated June 2016.
