The 2016 Sarasota County Citizen Opinion Survey asked respondents to rank how important it is for the county to work on nine issues that affect the quality of life in the county. The results revealed that citizens put the highest priority on county efforts to provide them opportunities to get good paying jobs (76 percent), keep the public safe (65 percent), adopt effective growth policies (64 percent), expand the availability of affordable workforce housing (62 percent) and improve transportation (61 percent).
