The law firm of Syprett, Meshad, Resnick, Lieb, Dumbaugh, Jones, Krotec & Westheimer has expanded its legal team with the recent hire of associate Emily K. Garriott. Attorney Garriott is a member of The Florida Bar, and is admitted to practice before all Florida state courts. Prior to joining Syprett Meshad, Garriott was an assistant state attorney in the 12th Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office, where she handled all phases of the criminal prosecution of defendants, including non-jury and jury trials. Garriott was awarded her Juris Doctorate, cum laude, in 2015, from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, in Political Science, also from the University of Florida. A native of Sarasota, Garriott is actively involved in the Sarasota community. A member of the Junior League of Sarasota, she currently serves as a co-chair of the Junior League of Sarasota’s State and Public Affairs Committee. She is also involved in the John M. Scheb Inn of Court and the Sarasota County Bar Association.
