Michael’s On East has cooked up a burger beyond the ordinary beef patty and cheese. Instead, they have devised a healthy blended creation, marrying meat with mushrooms in the Mighty Murf Burger, named after Michael’s On East Proprietor Michael Klauber’s father. Robust and juicy, the burger triumphantly stands, waiting for the first bite. And it is with that bite that one can taste the distinct flavors and combinations between the two tom cat brioche buns. The patty is a fusion of high plains ranch bison, chorizo and beech mushroom. This combination of mushroom and meat lowers the burger’s overall calories, fat, and sodium, providing for a healthier choice, without cutting out flavor. To compliment the blend, the patty is rubbed with porcini and topped with pan-roasted trumpet mushrooms, monterey pepper jack cheese, tomato and sweet onion relish, baby romaine and creole mayo. But what burger would be complete without fries? Not taking exception to this, truffle fries and house-made ketchup accompany the towering creation, making for a delicious and healthier burger option.
