Gary Leatherman, longtime director of the Sarasota County School District’s Communications and Community Relations Department, is retiring June 30. Leatherman has served in this role for more than 10 years. The district has contracted Three Six Oh Public Relations, a boutique Sarasota-based public relations firm, to expand and oversee the district’s communications efforts and develop a strategic communications plan. The district will issue a request for proposals this summer for a long-term contract with a public relations company to support district communications.
